This part should only need to be done once. Open a terminal and run:

anaconda3-launch conda create -n isis python=3.6
anaconda3-launch --env isis bash
conda config --env --add channels conda-forge
conda config --env --add channels usgs-astrogeology
conda install -c usgs-astrogeology isis
python $CONDA_PREFIX/scripts/isisVarInit.py --data-dir /groupspaces/nasa-lroc/
exit

The “conda install” line above will take at least 20 minutes.

Whenever you want to use the ISIS anaconda environment, you need to set up Anaconda appropriately. Open a terminal and run:

anaconda3-launch --env isis bash

Anything you then start inside this window will use the ISIS environment’s copy of Python.

I’ve not tested, but you can probably do things like:

anaconda3-launch --env isis spyder

if that’s your thing.
